- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) A permit without a valid decal was posted on the wall.
- Corrective Action: Operator immediately put a valid decal on the permit during the time of inspection.
- 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Frozen food items were found stored on the floor of a walk-in freezer. (Public Health significance) – food items not stored 15cm (6 inches) off the floor are subjected to contamination from sewage, waste, pest or chemicals that can cause illnesses.
- Corrective Action: All food items were immediately stored at least 15cm (6 in.) off the ground.
- 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: Clean and sanitized utensils (food containers) were stored next to a hand washing station. (Public Health significance) – sanitized food contact surfaces might be contaminated by the splashes created during hand washing, possibly contaminating food.
- Corrective Action: Relocate utensils storage area or create a physical barrier to prevent utensils from being contaminated by splash water.
