- 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
- The water filtration system was leaking and dripping into a makeshift drainage system that left water pooling on the floor. These conditions could lead to mold and growth of pathogens. Corrective action: The manager indicated that the parts to fix the filtration system are on order. In the meantime, I indicated that placing a bucket under the leak would be more preferable as it would prevent splashing and pooling of water on the walls and floor.
- 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
- Popcorn and other debris was collecting in the cupboards below the service counter. This could lead to cross-contamination of food items and serve as an attractant for pests. Corrective action: The area noted above must be regularly cleaned as part of your routine sanitation procedures.
- 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
- Floors were sticky and in an unsanitary condition, which reportedly cannot be addressed with current routine sanitation practices. Corrective action: Floors must be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. This could be accomplished through the use of more effective cleaning products/equipment and an improved cleaning schedule, or by replacement of the flooring.
