      • Mechanical ventilation in both washrooms was not working properly.Ensure the mechanical ventilation is in good repair.

      • Clean underneath the food racks inside the walk-in cooler and the kitchen ceiling above the food prep table.** April 29/25 - Cleaning not satisfactory. Ensure the areas underneath the shelving is cleaned thoroughly.**Oct 15/2025 - The walk-in cooler walls have cracks and seems to be moldy at the joints sealed by the aluminum foils. Repair the walls in the walk-in cooler.** Sep 08/2025 -Repair the cracks on the walk-in cooler walls and ensure it is easy to clean. The cracks will lead to mold growth.Still outstanding- operator asked for one month to do repairs and repainting.

      • The ice machine is broken and not in good repair.Ensure to cease using the ice machine until it is replaced.**Oct 15/2025 - Operator still using the broken and uncleanable ice machine. Cease using the ice machine until it is repaired/replaced. Operator agreed to buy ice from the local stores instead.

      • Pest control records were reviewed during inspection. However, it is recommended to contract a pest control for thorough checks in both upstairs and downstairs areas.

      • It was observed that the ice machine pipe was leaking water. The operator has initiated replacement for the same. In the meantime, clean the area underneath the ice machine to prevent the storage from flooding. Ensure this storage area is kept dry and repair/replace the ice machine.

      • The entire kitchen area require cleaning including hard to reach areas. The floor underneath the cooking line, freezers and the oven were unclean. Dirt and food debris were observed.**Ensure to clean the entire area again. the PHI observed that the cleaning was insufficient and requires to be cleaned again!

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • It was observed that cutting knives are stored between equipment in an insanitary area. The cutting knife was removed from the improper storage area during the inspection. Do not store knives between equipment and find a proper method for storing food preparation knives.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • There was no handwashing soap at the hand sink. Handwash soap was provided to the sink during the inspection.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • The current inspection revealed the kitchen hand sink is draining very slowly. Also a slight septic smell was noted in the kitchen area. Discussions with the facility operator and from the previous report indicate the kitchen plumbing lines require frequent physical cleaning by a mechanical means (auger or steaming) as it appears there is no grease trap on the system. 1. Have the plumbing lines cleared by a service provider. 2. Provide our office with service provider receipts of completed plumbing line clearing work. 3. Potentially seek the installation of a grease interceptor for this plumbing system. If this installation has been already investigated, provide our office with documentation of this action and outcome.

      • It was observed that cleaning is requried on the top surfaces of the dishwasher, the top surfaces of the pizza oven, the top surfaces of basement freezer lids and the walls near the hand sink. Clean these areas now and on a routine basis.

      • 1) A strong sewage smell was observed near the kitchen. Staff acknowledged there is an on-going problem and that the line is snaked frequently. The last time the plumber was on-site was October 13 2023.Facility does not appear to have a grease trap/grease interceptor. The line needs to be scoped with a camera to determine the cause of the build-up and if grease/fat is to blame, an adequate grease trap needs to be installed. 2) Lighting levels in the kitchen were dim due to burnt out bulbs. Please replace dead light bulbs.

      • The protective cover for a light fixture above the food preparation area in the kitchen was missing.Please replace the missing cover to prevent food contamination in and event of breakage.

      • Two freezers at the facility, one at the back area beside the kitchen and one at the basement were unclean and damaged. These freezers cannot be easily cleaned as it has several damages around it and on the inside edges.Please replace these freezers as it has dirt and debris that cannot be cleaned properly.
