      • Sensory bottles were not adequately sealed. Sensory bottles were removed from childrens access during inspection.

      • Foam play blocks were in disrepair.Blocks were discarded during inspection.

    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • There was no paper towel dispenser in the washroom of room 9. A stack of paper towel was placed directly in a cabinet above the washroom handwashing sink.Please obtain a paper towel dispenser for the paper towels to prevent contamination of the bulk supply.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Tape was used to secure toilet tank covers in all the classrooms and to hold door hinge covers in place throughout the facility. Tape was also used to line the rim openings of several paper towel dispensers. Refrain from using tape around the facility. Remove the tape from all areas, including the toilet tank covers, door hinge covers, and paper towel dispensers. Use alternative methods that are smooth, non-absorbent, and easy to clean to securely fasten the toilet tank covers and hinge covers.2. Discussion with staff revealed that sanitizing step was missing when cleaning children's water bottles.Ensure that proper cleaning procedures are in place for children's water bottles, by washing, rinsing, sanitizing in100 ppm chlorine or 200 ppm of quat based solution, and leaving to air dry.

      • The maximum hot water temperature at the toy sink in room 4 and the washroom sink in room 8 was measured at 57°C using a probe thermometer.Reduce the hot water temperature to the recommended maximum of 49°C. Ensure that all child-accessible handwashing sinks do not exceed 49°C.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Some children's water bottles were not labeled in several classrooms.Please label children's water bottles and all personal items with their names for proper identification and to prevent cross-contamination.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Staff in several classrooms explained that toys are being air-dried using garbage bags, laid out on a table.Discontinue the use of garbage bags for air-drying toys. Dry toys on a clean surface, such as a table, or use an alternative liner, like a tablecloth, to line the table before drying.
