Inspection summary
Lorette has been inspected 3 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since June 25, 2025. The most recent inspection, on May 14, 2026, found no infractions.
2 of 3 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 3 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct food-handling risks.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Permits, records and postingLower risk
Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.
Recorded once on January 6, 2026. For example:
Operator of a food service establishment has developed, maintained, and followed approved written procedures to ensure that a health hazard does not occur.
Food safety training and certificationLower risk
Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.
Recorded once on January 6, 2026. For example:
Food safety plan and records for raw oyster service are kept and are able to provide accurate information upon request during an investigation.
Other findingsLower risk
Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.
Recorded once on January 6, 2026. For example:
Food is cooked/processed in a manner that makes it safe to eat

Sat at the kitchen bar and loved watching the staff work. It was fun seeing everything come together and you could tell everyone really cared about what they were doing. Every dish was excellent. The oysters were super fresh, the white ham appetizer was outstanding (and the star dish), and the beef with foie gras was incredible. A big thanks to Jan (I think that was her name but I drank a lot) for the great service. Friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to without ever hovering. She really made the whole experience even better. One of the best meals I’ve had in whistler. I’ll definitely be back.

My friends and I decided to do a spontaneous day trip to Whistler today as we couldn't make it to downtown for team Canada's FIFA match. Lorette was one of the 3 restaurants in my friends list to try out and im so glad that we all voted for this one. We had Matt as our waiter. He was very detailed on describing what each dish tastes like. To be honest he could probably even convince me to order a bucket of ice cubes to munch on if he had to describe how ice cubes tasted. The whole staff was very friendly and a huge huge thank you to the chefs for putting such care into the presentation of the dishes. Not only that they made them looked out of this world, the food tasted superbly amazing. The steak was so tender and the peppercorn sauce was by far the best I have ever had and I've had plenty in my life time. The foie gras was super delicious, it was not gamey at all. Let's not even get started on the bone marrow. It was super deep in flavor and the richness from it gave me a satisfying feeling instead of a "ahh that was too much marrow" type feeling. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are staying in Whistler, or for a random day trip for that matter. Thanks again guys!

We came here for the first time during our Whistler trip and really enjoyed it. There were four of us, so we ended up trying pretty much every option on the 3-course menu, plus we upgraded to the ribeye. Honestly, out of all 12 dishes, there wasn’t one we didn’t like. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. It still felt very French, but not heavy at all — the sauces and textures were much lighter and cleaner than expected. The beef tartare with bone marrow and the tuna tartare were definitely the highlights for us. Service was lovely too. They explained the menu clearly, checked on us at the right times, but never interrupted our conversation too much. The room had a really nice atmosphere, and I liked that the tables weren’t packed too close together. For four people, with cocktails/mocktails and the steak upgrade, the bill came to around $330, which felt very reasonable for Whistler. Would definitely recommend, especially for a nice dinner with friends or family.

An excellent restaurant. Great food, great price makes a great find. $50 for a three-course dinner set (ex-wine) is rare to come by these days. We particularly enjoyed the tuna tartare as well as the bone marrow tuna tartare. All the main courses were really good too. Shout out to Jane and the staff last evening for giving us a great service.

What a beautiful find in Whistler! I opted for the Prix Fixe menu for dinner; great price, for exceptional food. Beautifully presented, cooked to perfection, and full of flavour. Shout out to George and Alex for their friendly, excellent service at the bar (where I was seated, as a solo diner). I was so impressed with my dinner experience, I returned the next day for brunch. Very nice breakfast, in a beautiful setting.
