Inspection summary
Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant has been inspected 13 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since July 4, 2024. The most recent inspection, on October 7, 2026, found no infractions.
3 of 13 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 4 inspections with 9 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing, Pests and Protecting food from contamination.
Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 12 times across 8 separate inspections, most recently on September 23, 2026. For example:
The premises and all equipment, utensils, and food contact surfaces are maintained in good condition and used in a manner that ensures safe and sanitary food handling.
PestsHigher risk
Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.
Recorded 11 times across 8 separate inspections, most recently on July 21, 2025. For example:
The premises is free of pests.
Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk
This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.
Recorded 5 times across 5 separate inspections, most recently on September 23, 2026. For example:
Food is handled in a sanitary manner and is not subject to contamination.
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded 4 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on September 23, 2026. For example:
Potentially hazardous food is thawed in a manner that makes it safe to eat.
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded 3 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on July 21, 2025. For example:
Each employee demonstrates good personal hygiene and washes their hands as often as necessary to prevent the contamination of food.

I had such a wonderful experience at Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant on Granville Street! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming, comfortable, and perfect for enjoying a meal with family and friends. The restaurant has a great traditional Chinese dining atmosphere, and the service made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. The seafood dishes were especially impressive, with great quality and generous portions that were perfect for sharing. Each dish had its own unique flavours, and you could really tell that care was put into the preparation. The food arrived at a good pace, and everything was served hot and fresh. One thing I really appreciated was how attentive and friendly the staff were. They were welcoming, efficient, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service remained organized and pleasant, which made the entire dining experience feel smooth and enjoyable. Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant is definitely a great place to come for family dinners, celebrations, or simply when you’re craving delicious Chinese food and seafood. The portions are generous, the food is satisfying, and the overall atmosphere makes it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a nice meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and flavourful Chinese cuisine in Vancouver. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

It not my first time there. The food at this place has always been good , very authentic and a truthful representative of Chinese cuisine at its best . The dishes are generous in quantities . This time it wasn’t any different. I did choose three dishes from the dim sum menu at I was not disappointed. The food came in less than 10 minutes and was very fresh and testy. The food came along with a pot of fresh and testy tea. The service was friendly. I cannot say too much about the atmosphere this time because the place was empty, but I usually go there at night time and it’s quite full with dinners. Highly recommended.

I had a really good experience at Lucky Fortune Seafood. The dim sum selection was impressive and everything I tried was delicious. The beef noodles were particularly memorable, and the steamed buns and rice rolls were also very good. The staff was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed, making it a great spot for any kind of outing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys dim sum. It's a solid choice for good food and good service. Looking forward to my next visit!

This is a good dim sum place. They are giving 10% off and free tea. The food, the quality, the price and service are good. I like the shrimp stuffed deep fried tofu. It's crisp outside but so tender inside. If you like Cantonese dessert, you should try the deep fried sticky rice flour sesame balls. All the food come out hot and fresh. This is the most important part of Chinese food. The deep fried fish is nice too since the batter is so light. If you prefer some rice, the chicken claypot rice is good. The left over rice that we bring home is enough for our dinner. We should go support our local small business.

Tried out this place for the first time since they changed the name/ownership. Overall, pretty on par with other dimsum places. The menu had the usual expected items with average pricing. The dishes took a while to be served but the servers were all very nice and polite. The food was tasty, the only downside was that the kitchen forgot to add any salt to one of our dishes. One thing that stands out is the calm and relaxing atmosphere. Because the space isn't as big as larger seafood restaurants, the noise level is not too bad even when it's busy.
