Inspection summary

Lumine Coffee has been inspected 8 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since November 5, 2021. The most recent inspection, on December 18, 2025, found no infractions.

3 of 8 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 2 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing, Protecting food from contamination and Food temperature control.

The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded 4 times across 4 separate inspections, most recently on December 4, 2025. For example: All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on September 19, 2024. For example: Food is handled in a sanitary manner and is not subject to contamination.

  • Food temperature controlHigher risk

Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.

Recorded once on November 5, 2021. For example: Potentially hazardous food is at a refrigerated temperature that keeps it safe to eat.

  • Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk

Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.

Recorded once on November 5, 2021. For example: Each employee demonstrates good personal hygiene and washes their hands as often as necessary to prevent the contamination of food.

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, required signage, written procedures and logs. These findings are administrative: the documentation was missing or out of date at the time of inspection.

Recorded 4 times across 3 separate inspections, most recently on December 4, 2025. For example: Operator of a food service establishment has developed, maintained, and followed approved written procedures to ensure that a health hazard does not occur.

Stopped by Luminé Coffee in Kits and oh my goodness, the pastries! 😍 The display case alone had me wanting one of everything. So many gorgeous options, all freshly made and beautifully done. I went for the double baked raspberry chocolate croissant and it was absolute heaven, crispy flaky layers on the outside and the most decadent filling inside. The matcha strawberry one looked stunning too. You can tell so much care goes into every single thing they make. The coffee was lovely and smooth, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Such a cute cosy spot to treat yourself. 🥐🤍

I’ve been here for a few times and the coffee is always very amazing. One of my fav coffee shops in Vancouver, at least top 2. ☕️Coffee ☕️ It’s very good. They use super good beans so the latte and americano taste smooth and flavorful. 🧑‍🍳service🧑‍🍳 It’s very good. Very friendly and professional. (Not generated by ChatGPT, I wrote them wholeheartedly.)

Hands down my favourite bake goods place now! I’ve tried their puff, their almond croissant 🥐 & chocolate banana croissant 🥐 Just wayyy too good! 😊 I’ve tried their latte and mocha too! Pretty decent (gotta go back to confirm about the drinks later! Haha) Loving this place! Happy to have them in this neighborhood in kits Totally recommend coming here to grab some snacks and chill

had a quick coffee here and it was good! seats were a bit limited but they have patio seating for when the weather is good. the chocolate crinkle cookie was good but it was just a bit chewy and thick. i'm used to it being crumbly and light. nonetheless, it was a good visit.

Pretty good price for size and quality of drinks. I got the matcha sweetened but it was sweeter than I prefer so next time I wouldn't. There is a decent amount of seating but the stools aren't the most comfortable for sitting and chatting for a while (and if you have a jacket you just have to keep it on or hold it). Awesome service!
