Inspection summary
Lyly's Kettlecorn has been inspected 5 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since April 8, 2016. The most recent inspection, on July 23, 2026, found no infractions.
3 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 0 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing and Handwashing and staff hygiene.
Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on August 16, 2024. For example:
All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.
Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk
Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.
Recorded once on June 1, 2023. For example:
Each employee demonstrates good personal hygiene and washes their hands as often as necessary to prevent the contamination of food.
Food safety training and certificationLower risk
Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.
Recorded once on June 1, 2023. For example:
A Certified food safety training course has been taken by the operator and food handlers of the food service establishment.

Best kettle corn ever. I've been a fan of Lyly Kettlecorn since I first tried it a few years ago. Their popcorn is always freshly made and full of flavor. My favorites are the Regular (sweetened), other flavors like Cheese and Caramel are also very good. It's become one of my go-to gifts for friends, and everyone who tried it would rave about it and ask for more. Thank you, Lyly, for bringing the best popcorn to the Richmond Farm Market each season. I'll continue to support your business and look forward to enjoying more to come. Keep up the amazing work. Tips for buyers: The Country Vine winery in the same market but at the other side of the parking lot also sells Lyly's stock on the same operating days and have all flavors. They sell for the same price and are open until 8pm.

This is our second year ordering from Lyly’s Kettlecorn for our school, and it was a huge success! We portioned their commercial giant bags into almost 1000 individual cups, and both students and staff couldn’t get enough of it. Everyone wanted to know where it was from! Lyly is fantastic to work with, highly accommodating, and made the whole process seamless. It’s the perfect treat for snacks, souvenirs, or fundraising events. Highly recommended!

Amazing popcorn, amazing people. Went and grab a bag or two, was told might sold out for the day while waiting in line. Just when it's our queue they're sold out. However, she still managed to scoop up 3/4 of a bag and gave us for free. That was probably the best service at a popcorn stall ever! Besides, they were really tasty. Not too sweet, flavored just perfect.

This is by far the best kettle corn I've ever had. The sour cream and onion flavor especially is 10/10. So addictive and the texture is perfect. Highly recommend!
