Inspection summary
Lynn Canyon Cafe has been inspected 5 times by Vancouver Coastal Health since April 9, 2024. The most recent inspection, on June 5, 2026, found no infractions.
2 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 0 infractions recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Food temperature control and Cleaning and sanitizing.
Recent inspections have recorded fewer infractions than earlier ones, so the record is improving.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on April 16, 2024. For example:
Potentially hazardous food is at a hot holding temperature that keeps it safe to eat.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded once on April 9, 2024. For example:
All equipment, food contact surfaces, utensils, dishes & glasses used on the premises are washed and sanitized in a manner that removes contamination.
Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk
Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.
Recorded once on October 3, 2025. For example:
Operation and maintenance of premises is in accordance with approved floor plans and specifications.

The perfect place to stop for a treat after exploring the park! 🍉☀️ This cute little cafe right by the suspension bridge is such a great stop. We grabbed the watermelon ice bar, and it was incredible. completely natural and fresh! You could actually taste real watermelon pieces blended right into the ice, which made it super refreshing without feeling artificial or overly sweet. Paired with a cold Jarritos soda, it was the absolute best treat to cool down with after walking the trails. Great service, lovely relaxed vibe, and delicious options. Highly recommend stopping by when you visit Lynn Canyon! 🍹✨

This was my first time coming to this trail with my partner and we found this cafe, and I’m happy to say that it was a great experience! The beef burger was AMAZING, as well as the service was great. The lady at the cash was super sweet and the cafe itself is beautiful. Definitely recommend, especially after walking a very beautiful trail.

A wonderful café experience from start to finish. The coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was incredibly cozy and relaxing. We sat in the sofa area next to a real fireplace, which made the whole place feel warm and inviting. It was the perfect setting to sit comfortably, chat with friends, and enjoy a peaceful moment together. Highly recommended for both the coffee and the ambience. ☕🔥

Fresh veggies on burger and yummy fries that surprisingly don’t make you feel guilty for indulging.

You are with your toddler and have just finished a refreshing walk down to the river and back. Both of you feel you deserve a poutine by the fire, good news! Lynn Canyon Cafe exists! This place has hike snacks, baked goods, and full meals! The cheeseburger, for its price was UNREAL. And the poutine? A crisper fry than a Belle Province, think a bit closer to Schwartz Deli, but I say it deserves the Montreal stamp of approval! The folks that run and work the Cafe are the cherry on top of a perfect BC experience.
