Inspection summary

Magma Massage Healing Haven has been inspected 2 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since September 28, 2026. The most recent inspection, on October 2, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.

None of the 2 inspections on record were free of infractions. In the past 12 months there were 2 inspections with 5 infractions recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct infection-control risks to clients.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their findings differently, so we group them by what they mean for clients. In personal service settings like salons, spas and tattoo studios, higher-risk findings are the ones that could spread infection from one client to the next, through broken skin, blood or instruments that were not properly cleaned and sterilized.

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Instruments, chairs, tables and footbaths must be made of materials that can be cleaned, kept in good repair and stored so they stay clean. Single-use items such as nail files, buffers, razors and needles must be thrown away after each client.

Recorded 3 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on October 2, 2026. For example: Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?

  • Permits, records and postingLower risk

Operating permits, client records, sterilization logs and required signage. Client records matter because they let health officials contact people if an infection is linked to the business.

Recorded once on September 28, 2026. For example: Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on September 28, 2026. For example: Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Re-usable extraction loops and tweezers were observed during the inspection (semi-critical tools), which were not properly cleaned and disinfected between the clients:a. In addition, semi-critical tools must be reprocessed using an approved high-level disinfectant, such as PREEmpt CS20 or PREEmpt HLD5.
