    • The maple syrup in small containers shall comply with the following conditions: (a) exclusively from maple sap or other maple product; (b) be clean, healthy and edible; (c) be free from unpleasant or unreliable smell or taste; (d) be free of bud taste related to amino acids; (e) be free from fermentation and mould; (h) be of a class determined in accordance with Annex 8.A; and (i) be of one of the colour classes prescribed in Table A of Annex 8.B.
    • As from 1 January 1981, the small container of maple syrup with a capacity exceeding 60 millilitres shall bear, on its main surface, in indelible, legible and apparent characters conforming to Annex 8.C, the following inscriptions: (a) the name ‘ Maple syrup'; (b) the designation of the class preceding, on the same surface as the name of the product, the designation of the colour class; (c) the designation of the colour class adjacent to the designation of the category; (d) the exact indication of the net quantity in litres or, if less than 1 litre, in millilitres; (e) the indication of origin; (f) the name and address of the operator, manufacturer, preparer, conditioner, packager, supplier or distributor. In the case of paragraphs e and f of the first subparagraph, the entries required in accordance with this subparagraph may appear on a surface other than the main surface.
