      • Quaternary ammonium (quat) sanitizer in the dishwashing sink near the office measured >400 ppm. Water temperature was approximately 105F.Instructions for measuring sanitizer require the temperature to be at 65-75F.Sanitizer temperature was reduced to 75F and concentration diluted to 200 ppm during inspection.Quat sanitizer dispensing unit uses a brick of sanitizer. The hot water temperature may be dissolving more of the sanitizer than intended. Ensure quat sanitizer solution is used at 200 ppm.

      • A sewage-like odor was detected in the accessible washroom in the lobby. Manager reported they have been pouring water down the drain to help control odor, but within 30 minutes the odor is back.A plumber was onsite at the time of inspection and working to identify the possible cause and address the issue.Ensure staff monitor the affected areas and mitigate as necessary.Keep EPH informed regarding actions to address the issue on a permanent basis.

      • A sewage-like odor was detected in the accessible washroom in the lobby, and also in the back dish area beside the office. Odor was slightly less than yesterday.Facility contacted a plumber, who verified that the two affected drains were installed without traps. Until this can be addressed, the solution is to pour water down the drain as often as needed to control odors.Ensure staff monitor the affected areas and mitigate as necessary.Keep EPH informed regarding actions to address the issue on a permanent basis.
