      • -Previous observations had not been corrected yet. It was indicated that a new diaper mat and couch replacement had been ordered, but have not arrived yet. Previous observations:The diaper mat in the toddlers’ room was observed to be ripped. Please ensure it is repaired or replaced to provide a smooth, easily cleanable surface.The couch cover in OSC Room 1 was observed to be cracked. Please ensure it is replaced to maintain a smooth, cleanable, and sanitary surface.

      • The diaper mat in the toddlers’ room was observed to be ripped. Please ensure it is repaired or replaced to provide a smooth, easily cleanable surface.The couch cover in OSC Room 1 was observed to be cracked. Please ensure it is replaced to maintain a smooth, cleanable, and sanitary surface.

      • Expired alcohol swabs were observed in the first aid kits. Please ensure they are removed and replaced, and that regular checks are conducted to keep first aid kits fully stocked, and ready for use.

      • - There are new requirements for first aid supplies. Please refer to Appendix H of the “Alberta Health Services Childcare Guidelines.” The list of supplies should be printed out so that regular audits can be completed.

      • The following hazards were noted:-There were some missing plug covers on electric outlets. Ensure plug covers are in place at all times.*Some plugs still missing covers

      • -Pest reports were not available since 2022. Please ensure that pest control records are maintained.

      • The following hazards were noted:-There were some missing plug covers on electric outlets. Ensure plug covers are in place at all times.-There were loose wires on the outside wall beside the entrance to the facility. Please ensure the wires are covered.

      • The following hazards were noted:-There was a storage shelf over 4 feet in the Toddler Room that was not secured to the wall. Please ensure that all storage units over 4 feet are secured to the wall.-Mop water was left in a bucket in the Toddler Room. Please ensure mop water is emptied immediately after use to ensure it cannot be accessed by children.-Ensure that kitchen cupboards used to store chemicals are secured with a child safety lock.-The Chlorine solution in the kitchen was not labelled; ensure all chemicals are labelled.

      • -No illnesses have been recorded for 2024. Please ensure that illness logs are being filled out when illness occurs in children/staff.-Alberta Health Services has not been notified that there are one or more individuals employed by or under the care of this facility infected with a communicable modifiable disease; and/or that there is an unusually high rate of any illness present within the facility.

      • -The wall next to the sink in the upstairs washroom showed evidence of water damage. Please repair.

      • -The temperature of the hot water accessible to clients of this social care facility is too hot. The temperature of water at every hot water faucet that is accessible to children, senior citizens, infirm, or disabled persons in a social care facility shall be limited to a maximum of 54°C (recommended maximum is 49°C). The temperature of water at every bathing fixture that is accessible to children, senior citizens, infirm, or disabled persons in a social care facility shall be limited to a maximum of 49°C (recommend maximum is 43°C).

      • -The tap at the upstairs washroom sink was dripping. Please repair.

      • -This social care facility is not properly constructed and/or managed to prevent the entry of vermin. Insect screens in the basement had gaps and tears which could allow for the entry of pests. Please repair/replace.July 24, 2023 -This still has not been completed. The director said all in the windows are going to be replaced in the daycare. The work should be completed within 6-8 weeks. Please notify me by email with pictures attached when the work is completed.
