- Carpeted flooring is visibly soiled and cannot be effectively maintained in a clean, sanitary condition despite routine vacuuming. Carpets are difficult to sanitize in preschool settings and may harbor dirt, allergens, and pathogens.Absorbent flooring can harbor contaminants and allergens, increasing the risk of illness and reducing the ability to maintain sanitary conditions.Please arrange for steam cleaning of the carpet and repeat at least monthly to maintain it in a clean manner. Please replace the carpet with a durable, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable surface no later than the start of the September 2026 preschool term.

- Hot water was not available at the preschool classroom handwash sink or at the washroom handwash sink used for diapering. Hot water is important to support effective handwashing and sanitation, and the lack of it at these sinks may compromise infection control. Please ensure hot water is restored to all handwash sinks, including the classroom sink and the washroom used for diapering, so that safe and effective handwashing can be maintained.Note: Mr. David Elliott notified AHS that hot water was restored on September 16, 2025. AHS appreciates the prompt attention to this matter.

- Observed no label on chemical spray bottles. Please ensure that all chemical spray bottles are labeled correctly to identify their contents.

- Noted the use of an unapproved cleaning/sanitizing agent (Mr. clean) at the time of inspection. Please obtain approved sanitizers that are approved to be used on food contact surfaces. Sodium hypochlorite (bleach) or Quats compounds are recommended as they are listed as approved sanitizers under the Regulation.
