      • Expired (June 1, 2026) containers of "Enfamil" brand baby formula were observed stored on a shelf in the grocery section. The containers were removed during the inspection. Ensure that expired food is removed and not available for sale.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Monthly pest inspection reports were not completed. Ensure that a monthly pest inspection is completed and that records are maintained for review.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • 1. The flooring in front of the washroom, near the mop sink is in disrepair.2. The flooring by the receiving door is cracked and chunks of flooring are missing.Repair or replace the flooring to provide a smooth, impervious and easily-cleaned surface.

      • No paper towel was located in the produce packing room's handwash station. Ensure that staff have access to paper towels or similar drying equipment so they can perform satisfactory hand hygiene.

      • A basic pest management log was created and filled in. However, it was missing information pertaining to which areas of the facility were checked. PHI sent a digital copy of the pest monitoring inspection template to the grocery manager to use in future inspections. Ensure that adequate pest monitoring inspections are completed monthly and that satisfactory records are created to document the inspections.

      • Evidence of pest activity was observed in the basement storage space, near the pet food. No logs or evidence of pest management was observed while onsite. Ensure that pest activity is dealt with and that records are maintained for review.

      • The fan covers in the produce walk-in cooler were covered in food debris. Ensure that the covers are cleaned on a regular basis.
