    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. There is a spray nozzle on the high-level disinfectant (Preempt CS20). The operator sprayed the high-level disinfectant onto the cuticle clipper and was not completely submerged. Semi-critical tools such as cuticle clippers, nail clippers, cuticle pushers etc. must be completely submerged in the high-level disinfectant to remove contamination. Informed the operator to adhere to the instructions of the high-level disinfectant. Failing to follow the instructions does not achieve adequate disinfection for the tools. The operator poured more high-level disinfectant into the container during the inspection.2. Observed what it appears to be biofilm growing in the impeller of the food basin for pedicures. The impeller must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in between clients. Ensure the parts are taken apart to thoroughly clean. The operator took apart the impeller and thoroughly cleaned the parts with soap and water then sprayed with Preempt RTU during the inspection.

    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • 1) Rust and stains build-up on the countertop next to the sink.2) Debris noted inside the manicure drawers and used paper towels inside the cupboard.3) Stool cover was peeling off; surface can't be cleaned properly. 4) Heavy stains noted on the fabric chairs in front of the private room. 1 to 4) Organize and clean the facility.

    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Used nail files were found inside the manicure station drawers. Discard "single use" nail files after use.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Nail Service1) Manicures and pedicures tools were not being disinfected. PREempt CS20 disinfectant expired on August 18, 2023. There was not soaker container available to immersed in the PREempt CS20.2) Slight pink stain noted on the foot tub jet.3) The foot tub was not being disinfected. The PREempt Rtu expired on August 2024.Hair Service.1) Hair was noted on all hairbrushes in the private room.2) Two containers of barbicide were half filled, combs were not immersed in the barbicide.

      • 1) Hair and debris were found inside the private room drawer. 2) Rust and stains build-up on the countertop next to the sink.3) Pink ring was noted in the toilet bowl and stains noted on the toilet. 4) Debris noted inside the manicure drawers and used paper towels inside the cupboard.5) Stool cover was peeling off, surface can't be cleaned properly. 6) Heavy stains noted on the fabric chairs in front of the private room. 7) Broken chair was stored in front of the private room. 1 to 7) Organize and clean the facility.
