      • Access to hand sink in waxing room blocked by storage items. Remove.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • Waxing room is also being used for storage. Room is too cluttered for both activities. Use for just storage.

    • 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
      • Nail instruments are not thoroughly cleaned. Few instruments that had been packaged for client use still had debris at the tip. Please ensure all parts of the nail instruments are thoroughly cleaned. Inspect the cleaned instruments to ensure all debris are removed before disinfection step.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. The CS20 in the container disinfecting the nail instruments were at 0ppm. 2. The container was overcrowded with too many nail instruments to disinfect in the CS20. 3. The container used for disinfecting the instruments was not cleaned. Debris has accumulated along all of the crevices.4. Drill bits are disinfected in alcohol but the container is labelled CS20. 5. Baskets for transporting clean and dirty instruments are not disinfected between use. 6. There is no system in place to monitor contact time between the CS20 and the instruments to be disinfected. 7. The towel for drying cleaned instruments was wet. 1. If CS20 is changed daily, please have the designated staff to initial when this task is complete at the end of the day. 2. Obtain additional container to properly submerge the instruments into the CS20 for adequate disinfection. 3. After the CS20 is discarded after daily use, please clean and dry the container for next day use. 4. Drill bits must be cleaned with soap and water, rinsed and dried and then disinfected with CS20. Alcohol is not a HLD and cannot be used to disinfect semi-critical tools (e.g. drill bits). 5. Please clean and disinfect the baskets between each client use. 6. Consider using a timer for each of the container used for soaking instruments in CS20. Ensure contact time of 20 minutes is followed. Prolonged soaking can cause damage to the nail instruments. 7. Towel for drying reusable tools must be changed after each use.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • The disinfectant wipes containers lid were dusty indicating that they are not regularly used after each client use. Please ensure all work surfaces are cleaned and disinfected after each client use.
