      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Cartons of foods observed on the floor in walk-in freezer. Drinks also observed on the floor in drinks cooler (Public Health significance) Contamination of food from contact with objects, dirt, debris, pests or chemicals can cause serious illness.
      • Corrective Action: These were removed off the floor. Operator is aware all foods (drinks included) should be stored at least 6 inches off the floor at all times.

    • 101 - Plans/construction/alterations not in accordance with the Regulation [s. 3; s. 4]
      • Observation: A large amount of ice has accumulated on surfaces inside the walk-in freezer. This promotes microbiological and safety hazards - contamination of food products from falling ice may occur; and, the ice on floor surfaces present tripping risks to food handlers working in the freezer. The seal around the freezer door is defective allows too much passage of air and promoted the accumulation of ice in the freezer.
      • Corrective Action: Repair the door seal, so that ice does not accumulate in the freezer.
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: Plastic bins storing opened packaged dry goods did not have covers that closed tightly. This could promote contamination of food and to attract pests.
      • Corrective Action: Provide effective covers to all packaged dry goods storage bins.

      • Observation: Lettuce was stored in the walk-in cooler with leaves contacting storage shelves. Contamination of the leaves could occur.
      • Corrective Action: Store lettuce in containers that prevent direct contact with storage shelves.
    • 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Imperial electric ovens are unsanitary, inside and out. This promotes contamination of foods being cooked.
      • Corrective Action: Thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the ovens.
    • 302 - Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: QUAT sanitizing solution in spray bottles measured less than 200 ppm. 200 ppm or more is required for effective sanitizing.
      • Corrective Action: Replace the solution with a QUAT concentration of at least 200 ppm.
