      • Please ensure that food prepared in a home kitchen also includes the following labels:- A statement that the food is prepared in a home kitchen that is not subject to inspection;- A statement that the food is not for resale;- The date that the food product was prepared.
    • 11. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this farmers' market (Critical)?
      • Vendors sell canned mustard and canned salsa without prior verification that the food is low risk. Any canned food other than jams, jellies, and pickles must be assumed high-risk, unless vendor has demonstrated pH of 4.6 or lower, or a water activity of 0.85 or lower.Please ensure that no high-risk food is sold in sealer jars. Customers may believe the food has been canned. Plastic, styrofoam or paper containers are acceptable.
    • 13. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Preparing foods, other than samples, is not allowed unless the vendor operates under a mobile food permit. Two vendors were selling mixed beverages incorporating syrups, ice, or steamed milk.

      • Vendors were informed about a few missing pieces with labelling requirements, mainly, a statement that foods are prepared at home and not subject to inspection. One vendor was missing a few ingredients on their low-risk food label and was notified. Vendors committed to including signage or adding the info to their labels next time.
