      • Observation: Scoops were left inside the cheese container, while handle was touching the cheese. (Public Health significance) - Scoop handles must be kept free from the product to prevent hand contact and contamination
      • Corrective Action: Store scoops away from food items such that it prevents contamination of food.
    • 501 - Repeat Operator does not have FOODSAFE Level 1 or Equivalent [s. 10(1)]
      • Observation: A person in charge who has Level 1 FOODSAFE training must be on at all times the establishment is in operation.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure staffing schedules provide for FoodSafe trained personnel to be present at all times.

      • Observation: Scoops were placed inside the cheese container, while the handle was touching the cheese. Public health significance: Scoop handle may cross-contaminate the cheese, and consumption of contaminated cheese may cause foodborne illness.
      • Corrective Action: Scoops need to be stored in such a manner that prevents cross contamination.
    • 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Dust accumulation was noticed on the condenser unit in the walk-in cooler. Public health significance: Dust particles may fall into the food and cross-contaminate it. Consumption of such food may cause foodborne illness.
      • Corrective Action: Condenser unit needs to be cleaned promptly.
    • 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: A gap was noticed between the back door and floor, which may allow pests to enter. Public health significance: Pest entrance into food premises may cross-contaminate the food and food surfaces and equipment through their excretions or the diseases or pathogens they carry themselves.
      • Corrective Action: The gap between the floor and the door needs to be fixed.
