- Observation: A remote inspection of this premises was conducted by phone. The operator submitted some requested documents. An on-site inspection was not conducted by the environmental health officer.
- Corrective Action: N/A
- 301 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
- Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) The cutting board for vegetables has numerous knife marks. (Public Health Significance) - knife marks can embed food residuals and hard to clean, allowing bacterial growth and the development of biofilm, which can subsequently contaminate foods.
- Corrective Action: Operator immediately discarded the cutting board and replaced with a new one. Operator to ensure all the food contact surfaces are smooth, non-absorbent, clean and sanitized at all times.
- 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
- Observation: Back door of the premises was not kept tightly closed, leaving a gap large enough to allow pest entry. (Public Health significance) – premises should prevent the entry of pest, which could result in food contamination.
- Corrective Action: Operator to seal the gap between the door and door frame.
