    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • Bleach concentration was measured at less than 100ppm. Solution was re-made, measured and verified at 100ppm.Note: Make sure to check the bleach concentration at regular intervals.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Facility does their own pest control but pest control records were not maintained.Make sure to maintain the pest control records on monthly basis.Pest control check-list will be provided for reference.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Expired Food Handling Permit is displayed.- Please ensure your valid permit is displayed in a publicly visible area.If you cannot obtain your permit, you may contact AHS Environmental Public Health at: 1-833-476-4743.
    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
      • No staff member had the recognized food safety training to meet Section 31 of the Food Regulation.Resource will be provided for the recognized food safety courses in Alberta.Note: Alberta food safety basic course does not meet the requirement.

    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • - The chlorine sanitizer solution being used (ie. Comet disinfectant Cleaner with Bleach), is inadequate as a sanitizer in a commercial kitchen. The concentration is too strong, increasing the risk of chemical residue on food contact surfaces, and the potential for chemical contamination of food and food related items.
    • 12. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • There are no test strips available for monitoring sanitizer solution concentration.Please purchase test strips for verifying adequate sanitizer strength.August 22, 2024- No test strips available onsite.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • - The exhaust hood system has not been serviced prior to or by the assigned service date. Please ensure the exhaust hood system is services to ensure good working order, and the prevention of fire hazards.
