What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • PestsHigher risk

Signs of mice, rats, cockroaches or flies, or gaps and clutter that let them get in or hide. Pests carry bacteria and can contaminate food and surfaces, so evidence of activity is treated seriously and usually triggers a follow-up visit.

Recorded once on July 24, 2026. For example: Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?

  • Equipment and utensilsLower risk

Equipment has to be built from cleanable materials, kept in good repair and stored properly. These findings are mostly about upkeep, like a cracked shelf, a worn gasket or utensils stored the wrong way. They are generally lower risk but show how well the kitchen is maintained.

Recorded once on July 24, 2026. For example: Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?

    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • At the time of inspection (1430 hours), the back screen door did not appear in good condition and was slightly open and had to be manually closed to prevent any potential entry of flies. As discussed with the operator, a more suitable fly screen door would be required and suggested a door netting with bar magnets that secure the netting in the middle and is attached to the door frame by velcro which allows easy install and removal. The main objective is to have an effective screen door to prevent any potential entry of insects (particularly flies) which could result in pest issues in the kitchen facility.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • 1) Jet Air 3 door pizza oven is currently not in good working order and requires either repair and/or replacement of the unit.2) All cooking equipment ideally should be on casters (e.g. - lockable wheels) to easier facilitate cleaning underneath the cooking equipment. Currently, only the grill/oven equipment has casters and would be ideal for the deep fat fryer.
