    • 02. Is all food in this facility from an approved source and/or properly labelled?
      • In-house baked cookies were stored in containers that without proper labels- Ensure proper labels are put in every package.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Observed May 11, 2026A countertop deep dryer was noted next to the coffee machine, and not under any hood.- Operator indicated this was personal use. Machine was unplug during inspection, machine must be removed. 1. The operator cook grease producing food on the gas stove in the kitchen which produces grease laden vapors and fumes. The canopy does not have a fire suppression system and/or does not look like a commercial canopy.- Contact City of Calgary fire department for confirming the ventilation canopy requirement and provide EPH a proof of the outcome their assessment and or outcome.

      • Food debris and dust noted in the following areas: - Cold display cooler- Fan stored on the shelf- The gaps between the shelf and the wall behind.

      • The staff member could not explain the three compartment dishwashing method.- Th staff was educated regarding 3 compartment dishwashing method. A poster was sent via email.

      • 1. The operator cook grease producing food on the gas stove in the kitchen which produces grease laden vapors and fumes. The canopy does not have a fire suppression system and/or does not look like a commercial canopy.- Contact City of Calgary fire department for confirming the ventilation canopy requirement and provide EPH a proof of the outcome their assessment and or outcome.2. One of the food prep counters has peeling edge where food debris will accumulate and cannot be cleaned thoroughly.- Repair the counter so that it is smooth, impervious to moisture and easily cleanable.
