The operator was called and told to shut down the hot tub until cleaning, disinfection, and satisfactory samples were obtained. The operator is out of town until November and the hot tub will be out of service until his return.

      • The free chlorine residual was measured at 1.77 ppm, which is below the required minimum level. During the inspection, multiple tests were conducted while the operator adjusted the chemical feeder/increased chlorine addition to the pool water to restore the disinfectant concentration. Following corrective actions and a total of five tests, the free chlorine residual increased to 3.70 ppm, which is within the acceptable operating range.Ensure that free chlorine levels are maintained within the required range at all times. Chemical levels should be monitored regularly and corrective action taken promptly when readings fall outside acceptable limits.

      • The total alkalinity was measured at 49 ppm, which is below the recommended operating range. The operator advised that maintaining total alkalinity has been an ongoing issue. During the inspection, multiple tests were conducted while corrective actions were taken to improve water balance. Following adjustments and a total of five tests, the total alkalinity increased to 65 ppm.The combined chlorine level was measured at 1.2 ppm, indicating an elevated level of chloramines in the water. During the inspection, the operator took corrective action to improve water quality, and after five tests, the combined chlorine level decreased to 0.44 ppm.Ensure that total alkalinity and combined chlorine levels are maintained within the required operating ranges at all times. Water chemistry should be monitored regularly and adjusted promptly to ensure effective disinfection, proper water balance, and safe pool operation.

Chlorine was being manually added to the whirlpool.- The whirlpool was closed to bathers and a sign posted to prevent usage.

Ensure flow rate is adequately calibrated to match the pool volume requirement for water recirculation.

      • Pseudomonas Aeruginosa isolated from sample collected November 29, 2023. Pool operator was instructed to empty pool, clean, refill and super chlorinate to 10ppm for a 15 to 20 minutes turnover period. Then balance the pool water chemical parameters before allowing bathers back in.

      • Skimmers contained sponges and had significant scum residue. Clean the above mentioned equipment and remove the scum and sponges. Maintain the area to a clean and sanitary condition to ensure bacteriologically and chemically safe water.
