      • Facility specific written procedures for accidental cut or puncture were not available onsite.Complete the written procedures for client care in the event of an accidental cut or puncture and ensure they are available onsite.Template can be found on AHS Environmental Public Health page online and will be provided to the operator.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Hand sanitizers was expired in 2022. Ensure all hand sanitizers are not expired to perform sufficient hand hygiene considering the alcohol content can decrease over time. Purchase new hand sanitizers with an alcohol content of at least 60-90% with a DIN or NPN. Use the hand sink to perform hand hygiene as an alternative.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Expired inks stored on the shelf. Tattoo inks should not be used when expired as the product cannot be guaranteed safe to use past the expiration date. Please ensure tattoo inks are regularly checked for expiration dates and discard those that are expired. The operator discarded the inks at the time of the inspection.

      • Established written procedures for tattooing were not available for review at the time of inspection. Provide previously established written procedures for review.
    • 29. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained to allow for the safe and sanitary provision of personal services (Non-Critical)?
      • The client bed used for tattoo surfaces appeared damaged, exposing cushion material that would be difficult to properly clean and disinfect. Operator indicated that a new bed was on order. A non-absorbent cleanable cover over the bed would also be an acceptable correction.
