- There was no chlorine detected in the rinse cycle of the dishwasher. A sanitizer is required to effectively reduce the amount of live microbes on the dishes that could contaminate foods and infect people. Ensure the dishwasher is repaired so that there is 100 ppm chlorine in the rinse cycle of the dishwasher.
