- Observation: Evidence of mice; droppings were noted in the facility. Public Health Significance - mice and other pests may cross contaminate foods and food contact surfaces with feces, urine, parasites and other diseases.
- Corrective Action: Operator has reported that a pest control agency has already been contacted and that traps have been set on site. Continued monitoring and follow up with the pest control service are required to ensure the issue is fully resolved. Food contact surfaces must be properly cleaned and sanitized every day prior to beginning any cooking or food preparation activities. This ensures that all equipment, counters, and preparation areas are free from contamination before use. Routine sanitizing is essential to prevent the transfer of harmful microorganisms to food and to maintain compliance with food safety requirements. Also, mouse dropping must be immediately cleaned up when they are noted.
