Inspection summary

Red Swan Pizza has been inspected 5 times by Alberta Health Services (Environmental Public Health) since January 23, 2024. The most recent inspection, on July 21, 2026, recorded 1 infraction.

4 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 1 infraction recorded. All recorded findings relate to upkeep, equipment or paperwork rather than direct food-handling risks.

The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.

Recorded once on July 21, 2026. For example: Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?

    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • A wire-bristled brush with a metal scraper on the end was observed on a shelf in the back storage room. The brush itself was wood, and numerous bristles were observed to be missing from the face of the brush. The employee onsite stated only the scraper part was used to remove the black build-up that occurs on pizza pans. PHI discarded this brush in the garbage at time of inspection due to its poor condition and potential to cause a hazard if bristles fall off. Do not use wire bristled brushes in food establishments and discard any metal equipment (e.g. mesh or metal strainers) if they start breaking.
