    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • The washroom sink located in the childcare room had a maximum water temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. Corrective action: The source of the hot water issue must be identified and addressed.

    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Most toys are cleaned and disinfected on a weekly basis, with the exception of plush toys and dress-up clothes. These are currently being laundered on a monthly basis, but this should be done weekly or when soiled.Corrective action: One of the following methods should be implemented to ensure that toys are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition - 1. All plush toys and dress-up clothes are laundered weekly. 2. A subset of plush toys and dress-up clothes get offered to clients, and then are removed and rotated with another set on a weekly basis. Bulk laundering can then be completed at the end of the month.

      • A food program has been implemented in which clients are provided toast with margarine. In addition, low-risk pre-packaged foods are offered to clients if they are missing snacks. The facility does not have a Food Handling Permit, which is required for this extent of food handling. Corrective action: If you wish to continue providing food to clients, you must submit a Food Handling Permit Application using the following link - https://form.jotform.com/240984997784078.This will also require at least one staff member to take food safety training course that is approved by the Minister.
