    • 101 - Plans/construction/alterations not in accordance with the Regulation [s. 3; s. 4]
      • Observation: A shelving unit in the room with the three compartment sink was not installed properly and the shelf was slanted. Improper food equipment can create safety issues and improper food storage.
      • Corrective Action: Repair or replace the shelving unit for proper storage of food and equipment.
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: Shelving units with food and food equipment were stored less than 6 inches (15 cm) from the floor. Food stored closed to the floor can be contaiminated with debris.
      • Corrective Action: Set shelves at least 6 inches above the floor to prevent contamination of items on the shelf.
    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: No active sanitizer detected in sanitizer containers or spray bottles. (Public Health Significance) Sanitizing solutions must be strong enough to destroy bacteria on surfaces to prevent the contamination of staff, clients or food on contact with the improperly cleaned surface.
      • Corrective Action: Change sanitizing solutions as required to always maintain an effective concentration (200 ppm unscented bleach, 200 ppm QUAT)- follow manufacturer's specifications) It is recommended that the facility has chlorine test strips.
    • 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: There was no screen on the window above the two compartment sink in the main kitchen area. Absence of screens on windows allows the entry of pests.
      • Corrective Action: Install a screen to prevent the entry of pests.
