      • Observed several ceiling light tubes in the storefront which were either missing/burnt out/flickering - please replace with new light tubes to provide more adequate lighting in the store which would facilitate easier cleaning.

    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • Observed that the Food Handling Permit was not posted in full view of patrons at the time of inspection.If misplaced, the owner will need to reach out to our Department to reissue another food handling permit.Once notification has been received by the owner, the food permit will be emailed and owner will then be required to print + post at the front counter area.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • TO BE COMPLETED BY MAY 31, 2025:1) Observed several bulging/water stained ceiling tiles - new owner confirmed that there are still active leaks on the roof which must be addressed later in the spring 2025 (cannot be properly repaired during the winter season). Once leaks have been addressed, the existing ceiling tiles can then be replaced.2) Existing floor finish in the store is in disrepair and several areas require replacing with a new flooring finish to ensure it is smooth and easily cleanable.3) Observed several non-functioning or missing light tubes for the store front - please replace these fluorescent tubes and encouraged the owner to consider replacing existing lighting with LED. Moreover, if extra inventory of food is stored in the back room area, the existing lighting is inadequate and more adequate lighting is required to easier facilitate cleaning.INSPECTION SUMMARY ON JUNE 4, 2025:Required work is yet to be completed by the contractor hired by the owner.As discussed, please complete all required work listed above by no later than July 31, 2025.Once all completed, you should reach out to our Department and inform.SEPTEMBER 10, 2025:Confirmed that there has no significant progress on above required work. Owner is to make contact with a contractor and email details of call + date of commencement of work to our Department by Friday September 12, 2025.Moreover, at the time of inspection, the inventory of product in back storage room needs to be on the shelves and less disorganized and more adequate lighting (preferably LED) is required in same area to facilitate easier cleaning.

      • Due to a change in ownership, a new food handling permit will need to be issued to reflect this change.Informed the new owner that the food handling permit previously issued to the previous owner is NON-transferable and is now null and void.
