- 304 - Repeat Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
- Observation: Evidence of mice droppings were noted in the facility inside cupboards of both kitchens. Pests may carry harmful pathogens that could contaminate food items and equipment, increasing the risk of foodborne illness.
- Corrective Action: Operator to remove rodent fecal matter. Set up traps to monitor and remove pest from building.
- 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
- Observation: Gaps next to exhaust fan in curling rink can allow for entry of wild animals and pest. These animals may carry diseases and inhabit the building, increasing risk of diseases to public.
- Corrective Action: Operator to cover gap with mesh that prevents entry of pests.
- 309 - Chemicals, cleansers, & similar agents stored or labeled improperly [s. 27]
- Observation: Poison bait for rodent was stored in the kitchen cupboard underneath the sink. The bait and fecal matter of rodents who have consumed this bait could contaminate food contact surfaces and human food.
- Corrective Action: Operator to remove poison bait from kitchen. Use of professional pest control is recommended.
