- 09. Are chemicals stored and handled in a safe manner?
- An unlabeled spray bottle containing a blue liquid was observed in the sandwich/soup preparation area; upon inquiry, an onsite employee confirmed it contained Windex (glass cleaner). The operator was advised that chemicals not approved for kitchen use must not be stored in food preparation areas, as they could be accidentally used on food-contact surfaces. The spray bottle was removed at the time of inspection, and the operator was reminded to ensure all chemicals are properly labeled.

- Hand wash sink in sandwich/ soup area is not provided with hand wash soap. Operator provided it at the time of inspection. Hand wash sink in pizza preparation area is covered with a wooden block. Onsite employee indicated that he uses dish washing sink to wash his hands. Operator is advised not to block hand wash sink and educate employees to use hand wash sink for hand washing. Operator removed wooden block at the time of inspection.

- An onsite employee was observed preparing a sanitizer solution without measuring the sanitizer concentration and indicated that a 50% bleach solution could be used on food-contact surfaces. The operator was advised that improper sanitizer concentrations can pose a food safety risk and was instructed to educate all employees on correct sanitizer preparation and food-safe handling practices.
