- 19(1)(c) A food establishment must be located, designed, constructed and maintained to ensure all of the following:
(c) that the surfaces and materials are durable, non-toxic and are easy to maintain, clean and sanitize;
- In accordance with Section 2.3 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must ensure walls and ceilings are constructed of finishes which are smooth, impermeable, and washable. In accordance with Section 2.9 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must ensure storage areas are constructed of materials which are durable and easily cleaned. Observed bare wood in kitchen and under steam table set up. Seal required for all bare wood and under steam table set up with materials that are smooth, impervious, and easily cleanable.
- 19(3) A food establishment must have lighting, ventilation, heating, refrigeration and plumbing that is appropriate to the specific activities of the food establishment and that is considered acceptable by the Minister.
- In accordance with Section 2.12 and Section 2.15 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must acquire all required approvals for plumbing systems from local and/or provincial authorities. Observed rear draining pipe of ice maker machine draining/dripping on the floor. Ensure to divert the flow of dripping water into the floor cupping in the area.
