Chrissy's Couture Cakes Ensure that thermometers are equipped inside all coolers to verify that frozen food items are maintained at -18 degrees C or lower and refrigerated food items are maintained at 4 degrees C or less for safe food storage to prevent bacterial growth.

      • Stallholder (Chrissy's Couture Cakes) was observed to be offering toppings to add onto cheesecakes. The stallholder indicated that the customer can choose the toppings they want and the stallholder will add the toppings onto the cheesecakes. Stallholder was instructed to remove the toppings from her table during the inspection. Stallholders are not permitted to conduct any food handling or preparation (this includes: mixing, assembling, modifying or cooking) onsite other than providing samples as per the Farmers Market Food Handling Permit restrictions.

      • Stallholder (Burnt Water Roasters) offers black coffee samples dispensed from a hot holding carafe. The stallholder was observed to have hand sanitizer in their stall. Public Health Inspector provided education on stallholder requirements of having a temporary handwashing station AND hand sanitizer in their stall if they are offering samples. Please ensure to have a temporary hand-washing station set up for the next market to be able to conduct proper hand hygiene if hands become soiled when providing samples.

      • Chrissy's Couture Cakes- Cheesecakes made with cream cheese and fresh fruit toppings are being displayed at room temperature ENSURE PRODUCTS WITH HIGH RISK FOODS SUCH AS CREAM CHEESE ARE STORED, DISPLAYED AND TRANSPORTED AT A TEMPERATURE OF 4 DEGREES CELSIUS OR LOWER, SUCH AS IN A REFRIGERATOR/COOLER WITH ICE**Note: PHI advised that a picture of the cheesecakes/baked goods containing high risk food items can be displayed at the stallholder's stall and the cheesecakes/baked goods containing high risk food items must be kept in coolers until the customer purchases them.**Update (September 8, 2025): It was discussed with the Market Manager that the stallholder will display some of their cheesecakes on an ice tray to ensure that temperature control is being maintained at the next market. Stallholder MUST ensure that ice is frequently changed out and use a temperature measuring device throughout the day (thermometer) to verify that the temperature is being maintained at 4 degrees C or lower.
