      • KITCHEN ISLAND COUNTERTOP EDGE FINISH:As discussed with April Payne, the edging in above area is lifting in several spots and is not in compliance since it is a snagging hazard and would inhibit with cleaning and is not a smooth finish.Since this is a non-critical violation, our Department would like to discuss timeframe to complete this required work with the daycare management.

    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • HOT WATER TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS:1) Boy's washroom: 51.5 C2) Girl's washroom: 50.5 C3) Nusery washroom: 33 CThe maximum hot water temperature at the faucet accessible by children in a child care facility is 49 C. Subsequently, the hot water temperature for the washrooms located beside the daycare are over the maximum and the hot water tank should be adjusted accordingly to achieve this required temperature.On the other hand, the hot water temperature for the nursery bathroom is low and can be increased (if practically possible). Finally, assuming there is only one (1) hot water tank in the church, wondering why there is a large difference between the two locations in the same building - was not able to confirm during the inspection.
    • 31. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Critical)?
      • Confirmed that the current supply of chlorine test strip papers in the daycare were expired (June 2022) and the other container had a label where the expiry date could not be read (and assumed expired).Subsequently, new chlorine test strip papers should be ordered and informed the Assistant Director that these same chlorine test strip papers can also be ordered on-line via Amazon. The brand name used by our Department is "Hydrion" and retail for approximately $18.
