    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • No sanitizer prepared in the front beverage prep area. Staff prepared a new QUAT solution during the inspection. QUAT sanitizer was measured at 200 ppm using test strips available on site. Ensure that all food handling areas have food-grade sanitizers prepared. Monitor concentration regularly.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Ice scoop was left on top of ice inside the ice machine. Staff placed the ice scoop in a designated holder during the inspection. Keep ice scoop in a holder to prevent contact between scoop handle and ice.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • A metal strainer was noted to be in disrepair. Staff discarded the damaged utensil during inspection. Regularly monitor and repair or replace any damaged utensils.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • Grease and food debris build-up noted on floor surfaces under equipment. Clean all floor surfaces routinely after busy hours and during closing to keep surface clean and free of grease and debris.

    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Prep cooler on the left side in kitchen measured 12 degrees Celsius. Monitor temperature. Do not use cooler unless it is able to maintain 4 degrees Celsius or below.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Drive thru window was open for ventilation. Install screen or keep closed. Window was closed during the inspection.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Wall under drive thru window had been repaired with duct tape. Remove duct tape. Repair and paint wall so that it is smooth, non-porous and easy to clean.
