    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • First aid kit kept in a cupboard above the hand sink in the main playroom contained expired items:1. Alcohol Swabs (DIN: 02240759) (EXP: Feb 2011) 2. Triple Antibiotic Ointment (DIN: 02088339) (EXP: Sep 2011)Please ensure first aid kits are stocked with required items to ensure that supplies are readily available for emergency response and treatment. **Refer to page 41 of the Health & Safety Guide of Childcare Facilities for Operators, which lists what items are required in a first aid kit.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Daycare uses bleach solution to disinfect toys and hard surfaces (ie. tables children sit at in the playroom). There was a lack of test strips available to confirm concentration of prepared bleach solution. Inspector advised staff to have test strips purchased. Ensure bleach sanitizing solution is made fresh daily and tested with test strips to verify the concentration for effective disinfection of toys and hard surfaces. **Refer to page 35 of the Health & Safety Guide of Childcare Facilities for Operators titled Appendix F - Cleaning & Disinfecting Surfaces, Equipment & Toys
