      • Bottle of vinegar and water solution found in kitchen. Operator indicated it is used on food contact surfaces. Operator was educated on the acceptable sanitizers. Bottle emptied during inspection.ENSURE:The only acceptable sanitizers used for food contact surfaces is either bleach, quats, or iodine.

      • The walls need to be re-sealed to the countertops, as there is now a gap in between

    • 11. Are there adequate and properly operating dish washing facilities to effectively clean and sanitize equipment and utensils (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • The ice cream scoops are being washed in one sink - scoops are to be washed using the 2 or 3 compartment sink method, according to the Alberta Dishwashing Regulation.
    • 17. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this food facility (Critical)?
      • There are multiple signs on the washroom doors, instructing washroom users to remove their shoes. This can create cross contamination concerns (these are the kitchen staff washrooms as well), and the facility washrooms must be cleaned regularly even if users are unshod.

      • There are several wall deficiencies that need to be corrected to block pest entry, and to make wall surface smooth, water resistant and easily cleanable. i) near/underneath the dishwashing sinksii) back walls where laundry was connectediii) wall of kitchen that is closest to the window adjoining the ice cream shopiv) a section of baseboard is peeling off near the cooking linev) the walls need to be re-sealed to the countertops, as there is now a gap in betweenvi) the wall under the fire extinguishervii) all the walls in the ice cream shop section are not sealed to walls

      • There is an electrical outlet cover in the back corner (between the ice cream shop window and a glassfront cooler) that appears to be homemade and covered in tape. Replace this with a code-compliant electrical outlet cover.
