- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- Evidence of house fly presence was observed in auxiliary areas to the kitchen. The following pest control actions are required: 1. Sticky traps in the windowsills downstairs and the one in the Church upstairs were full of captured houseflies. These traps must be discarded and replaced. 2. Deceased house flies present in the light covers should be disposed of and the covers should be cleaned and sanitized. 3. A monthly pest monitoring program should be in place. If necessary, a more frequent monitoring program may need to be established. A template checklist was provided during the inspection. As part of the pest monitoring program, the source of pest entry should be identified and blocked. During the inspection, windows, and doors were examined. There were no obvious entry points; however, there was a small area at the front door where weather stripping was missing. Filling this space may help prevent pest entry.
