    • 105 - Remote Inspection
      • Observation: A remote inspection of this premises was conducted by phone on 26-JAN-26. An on-site inspection was not conducted by the environmental health officer.
      • Corrective Action: The operator needs to complete a Food Premises Self-inspection Checklist and submit this along with any requested supporting documents to the environmental health officer.
    • 209 - Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Eggs were stored in a cooler unit above ready to eat foods. Raw eggs and the carton have the potential to transmit microbes to the ready to eat food.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure raw eggs are stored similarly to raw meats so that they are below or separate from ready to eat foods. The operator moved the eggs during the inspection to a different cooler.
    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: The exhaust system above the cooking line had not been recently serviced, the eye wash station had expired solution and the quat test strips were expired. Exhaust systems above cooking lines can harbour grease and cause fires. Expired solutions and test strips may not be effective.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure that the exhaust system is serviced to prevent grease build up and the eyewash solution and test strips are up to date so that they function properly. On Feb 1st, the operator emailed that the eyewash solution was on order.
    • 401 - Critical Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
      • Observation: Inadequate facilities provided for hand washing. The current handwash sink is used also as a vegetable washing sink. This reduces the accessibility for handwashing. (Public Health Significance) Hand washing is an important practice to ensure food are protected from cross contamination from other previously handled foods or contact surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Ensure the hand wash station is accessible at all times and used only as a hand wash station whenever food is being prepared. Soap and paper towel in dispensers and hot and cold running water must be provided to facilitate proper hand washing. Use part of the three compartment sink to wash vegetables. Ensure the sink is washed and sanitized before and after uses.
