    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • A handwashing sink in the small washroom was not producing water at the time of inspection. The director turned it back on during the inspection. Ensure all handwashing sinks remain functional and accessible at all times.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Some staff were unable to describe the proper manual toy washing procedure, and staff indicated that a disinfectant was not being used during toy cleaning. Toy washing procedures were reviewed with staff. Toys must be washed with detergent and warm water, rinsed, disinfected using an approved disinfectant, and air dried. A designated toy-washing sink must be available and cannot be used for handwashing or be located in a washroom.

    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • -Some alcohol wipes in the Toddler Room first aid kit had expired. Wipes were replaced at the time of inspection. There were multiple brand new first aid kits on-site. Please continue to check and replace first aid supplies as necessary
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • -There was a wet cloth left on the soap dispenser in the Baby Room. Several clean cloths were available. Please ensure cloths are put in a dirty laundry bin immediately after each use.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • -Chemicals were stored accessible to children in multiple locations: *The floor of the staff washroom *Under the sink in the kitchen-Knives were stored on the kitchen cupboard-The plunger and toilet bowl cleaner were stored in the washroom. These items should be stored out of children’s reach.Please ensure that hazardous items are stored secured or out of the reach of children.
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -There were loose staples on the wall of the Pre-school 2 Room. Please remove. If staples are going to be used consider taping them to prevent them from falling out.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • -The surface of the ceilings, walls, and/or floors in this social care facility are not acceptable. The paint was peeling in multiple spots of the Preschool 1 Room. Please address.-Floor covering was damaged in multiple spots in the OSC Room and washroom. Please address.-Caulking around the washroom sinks was in disrepair. Please replace.-Storage shelves in the Pre-school 2 Room have peeling tape. Please repair.

      • -The first aid kit for this social care facility is not being properly managed, is not readily available, and/or is not properly supplied. Some supplies had expired in 2018. Please update all first aid supplies to meet new requirements. Information will be provided with the report.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • -Colourful cardboard bricks were in disrepair in several classrooms. Please remove/replace.-The small blue couches in the OSC Room were torn. Please repair/remove.
