    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • On interview with staff member with regards to diapering procedure they advised that children's hands were washed only if they felt they had become contaminated during the diapering process. The need for hand hygiene on children who are been diapered at all times was discussed. Please ensure that after each diapering - staff are aware that they are to wash their own hands AS WELL as wash/sanitize children's hands - always - not just if the children's hands become contaminated during the diapering process. Please ensure all staff are aware of this requirement.
    • 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
      • In the toddler room there is a temporary handsink set up. Staff empty, sanitize and refill the unit each day. There was a cloth towel hanging next to the sink. No paper towels were available.. The temporary handsink in the toddlers room can only be used if it is stocked with warm water, soap and paper towel. Cloth towels are not to be used - as they can become contaminated and lead to transmission of bacteria/viruses that can cause illness. Staff advised to have paper towels at the temporary sink immediately. The alternative is to remove the temporary sink from the room and locate the diapering station back into the main washroom area where handsinks are available.
