9 inspections

  1. Risk Management Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 03. Is the bacteriological quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • Water samples have not been submitted on a weekly basis. The last sample submitted was November 5. Please submit a water sample and continue to do so on a weekly basis.
  2. Risk Management Inspection

    3 infractions

    • 03. Is the bacteriological quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • Water samples have not been submitted on a weekly basis. The last sample submitted was November 5. Please submit a water sample and continue to do so on a weekly basis.
    • 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
      • The pH was measured to be 7.74 which is too high. Please bring down the pH and ensure that it is maintained between 6.8 - 7.6 at all times.
    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • The alkalinity was measured to be 0.00 ppm. Alkalinity must be maintained between 60-180 ppm at all times. Please balance the water appropriately. The combined chlorine was too high to measure on the inspector's pool kit. Combined chlorine is to be maintained as low as possible (preferably below 1.0 ppm) for bather comfort.
  3. Demand Inspection

    1 infraction

    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • The floating weir was not operational.

  6. Risk Management Inspection

    3 infractions

    • 03. Is the bacteriological quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • Bacteriological water samples have not been collected and submitted to the Provincial Laboratory on a weekly basis. Please ensure that water samples are collected and submitted on a weekly basis.
    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • The total alkalinity of the whirlpool was measured to be 35 ppm which is better than yesterday's value (0 ppm) but still needs to be higher. Operator added more baking soda to the hot tub during the inspection. Ensure that the concentration of alkalinity in the water is maintained between 60 - 180 ppm at all times.
    • 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
      • The staff are checking the chemical parameters most days, however, some of the recordings are of colours rather than the levels of chemical. The pH will be recorded as "yellowish" or "purple" and chlorine as "colourless." There does not appear to be any action taken after these levels/colours are seen as these results are frequently recorded multiple days in a row. Of note, the yellow colour would indicate that the pH is very low and the colourless recording for chlorine may mean that the chlorine is too high for testing. However, nothing seems to have been done after these results are recorded. Please ensure that appropriate measures are taken after seeing/recording these levels.

    • 04. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Critical)?
      • The pH of the whirlpool was measured to be 6.5. This is lower than the acceptable levels for pH. Low pH will cause bather discomfort and corrosion of the hot tub surfaces and equipment. Ensure that the pH of the hot tub is maintained between 6.8 - 7.6 at all times.
    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • The total alkalinity of the whirlpool was measured to be 0 ppm. This is not an acceptable level for alkalinity. The low alkalinity could be contributing to the low pH in the whirlpool. Low alkalinity also seems to be a constant issue with the whirlpool.Ensure that the concentration of alkalinity in the water is maintained between 60 - 180 ppm at all times.

    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • The total alkalinity of the whirlpool was measured at 2.0 ppm. Please ensure that the concentration of alkalinity in the water is maintained between 60 - 180 ppm at all times.
  9. Monitoring Inspection

    2 infractions

    • 05. Is the chemical quality of the water in this pool satisfactory (Non-Critical)?
      • The total alkalinity of the whirlpool was measured at 3ppm.Please ensure that the concentration of total alkalinity in the water is kept between 60 - 180 ppm.
    • 13. Are the general safety devices and physical conditions in this pool providing a safe environment (Non-Critical)?
      • The clock in the whirlpool area was not working at the time of inspection. Please ensure that there is a working clock visible to bathers from the whirlpool.
