    • 304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
      • Observation: -Moderate amount of mice droppings noted in the dry storage area. Other areas of the kitchen have minimal amount. Professional pest control is present on-site but it appears that no traps are present in the dry storage area.
      • Corrective Action(s): -Staff inidicate the pest control technician is due to service the facility today (good). Please ensure that you show the technician the droppings present in the dry storage area and see if traps can be placed in this area. Ensure that the droppings in the dry storage area, as well as any in the main kitchen are cleaned up routinely and safely. Use a proper mask and gloves, make a bleach solution of 20ml of bleach to 980ml of water and pour it on the droppings. Wait 10 minutes then wipe up the droppings or wet mop. Do NOT sweep or vacuum rodent droppings. WorksafeBC has information on the safe clean up of rodent issues on their website. For foods in the dry storage area, ensure as much of the dry foods as possible are placed in to sealed containers to protect them, and also ensure any spilled food during the day is cleaned up at least once per day to remove possible food sources. Investigate the dry storage area for entry points by moving foods off the shelving and searching for possible holes.

    • 401 - Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
      • Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Back dedicated hand sink was blocked with large pieces of food equipment/dishes inside it at the time of inspection
      • Corrective Action(s): Items were removed from the sink at the time of inspection. As this is the only hand sink in the back area, you must keep this sink free of items at all times. You can spray dishes quickly as needed in the sink, but can't obstruct it or store items in it.
