      • Written procedures are not available on site, providing them to the operator. Please ensure that sections pertaining to cleansing of the skin and accidental cuts are printed off and made accessible.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Alcohol was observed on site without a Drug Identification Number (DIN). Alcohol products used for disinfection should have a valid DIN and contain 60–90% alcohol to ensure effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Please ensure that all alcohol used for disinfection has a valid DIN and an alcohol concentration between 60% and 90%.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • During the inspection, staff were observed moving blankets in the area. Upon inquiry, the operator advised that staff use the reprocessing area for napping. The use of the reprocessing area for resting or sleeping is incompatible with its intended purpose and may compromise the hygiene of the reprocessing environment. Please ensure that napping and other non-reprocessing activities do not occur in the reprocessing area.

      • The facility was using a miniaturized recycling bin as a sharps container. The container lacked a secure lid and may not have been puncture-resistant. The operator was instructed to obtain an appropriate sharps container.
