      • Disinfectants in the toddler room, the 3 year olds room, and in the bathroom were not labelled. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure the bottles are labelled to prevent misuse

      • Bucket with old sanitizing towels was observed in the room. This was corrected during the inspection and the bucket was moved to the back storage. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that any cleaning materials are kept out of reach of children

      • Wall in the staff bathroom had a hole behind the door. DO THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure the hole is repaired to allow for easy cleaning of the surface.

      • 1. Toddler washroom:Bleach disinfectant spray bottle not labelled.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure all chemical bottles are labelled to prevent misuse.

      • **CORRECTED**1. Bingo dabbers used by children stated '"keep out of reach of children". Dabbers removed from classrooms during inspection.2. Galaxy room:- Stapler and non-child safe scissors found in storage bin that was accessible to children. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Use only non-toxic arts and craft materials and supplies that are safe for use by children.2. Ensure all staff items are inaccessible to children.

      • 1. Stars room:- Filing cabinet not secured to wall. - Staples on poster board on wall. 2. Milky way room:- Cabinet with staff personal items not secured to well. 3. Galaxy room:- Staples on poster board.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Secure the cabinet to the wall to prevent from accidentally falling over.2. If using staples, they need to be covered with tape. Otherwise, use tape or sticky tack.

      • 1. No CPR barriers in first aid kits.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Please purchase CPR barriers.

      • **CORRECTED**1. Operator stated they were spraying bleach disinfectant on toys and leaving it for 30 seconds before wiping off. Proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures discussed during inspection.COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure toys are either immersed in disinfectant or sprayed with enough bleach disinfectant that surfaces remain wet for a minimum 2-minute contact time.

      • 1. Milky Way room:- Little Tykes plastic slide was being used in room with no appropriate surface fall material. Slide measured 27 inches in height. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Do not use the slide. All play equipment that measures greater than 20 inches in height must have adequate impact absorption material.
    • 30. Are workers washing hands when appropriate and/or in a proper manner?
      • **CORRECTED**1. Observed staff who did not remove their gloves after changing a child and returning them to their classroom. Staff returned to washroom, removed their gloves and then washed their hands. COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:1. Ensure that staff are removing gloves and washing their hands before leaving the washroom.

      • 1. The surface of the trays on a few of the high chairs in the infant room were worn with the plastic coating peeling off.Refinish or replace the trays to aid proper cleaning and disinfection.

      • The handwashing sink in the toddler washroom did not have paper towel.Staff refilled the paper towel dispenser.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. The surface of the trays on a few of the high chairs in the infant room were worn with the plastic coating peeling off.Refinish or replace the trays to aid proper cleaning and disinfection.2. When asked about the toy cleaning procedures, staff in the infant room indicated that toys are only disinfected. Please ensure that toys are washed with detergent and warm water to remove dirt and debris prior to the disinfection step.
