      • The female washroom is currently not in use because it has plumbing issues (leaking). Ongoing repair of the washroom was observed at the time of inspection.Washroom repair has to be completed as soon as possible, so that it can be put back into use.

    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • Garlic spread was left on the kitchen food preparation area.Manufacturer's instruction for use states it should be kept refrigerated.Kindly adhere to this storage instruction as stated by the manufacturer to prevent the growth of bacteria and possible food borne illness.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Thermometer was observed to be absent in a cooler, some fridge and freezers in the facility.Functional thermometer helps to ensure proper temperature monitoring of food.Please place functional thermometer in all cooler, fridge and freezer in use in this facility.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Mouse droppings were observed on a shelf near the safe in the dry storage area.Please clean this area and any other impacted area. Please ensure at least one form of pest monitoring is being done at least monthly and proper record of pest monitoring activity is done.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • A strong foul sewage smell was observed on entrance into the food establishment. Front house staff explained that the smell was from the female washroom. The washroom is currently not in use because it has plumbing issues (leaking). This washroom needs to be repaired, and its repair should be prioritized so that it can be put back into use and also to stop the smell it is producing.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • 1. Mouse droppings was observed in the shelf close to the safe in the dry storage room.2. Very small pool of water was observed on the floor of one of the coolers directly below the cooler fan.-Please clean up mouse droppings. -Wipe off water on the floor of the cooler and trace if there is any leak so that it can be fixed.-Always make sure there is detailed cleaning of every area in the food establishment.

    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Water valves at base of hand sink were closed off when PHI arrived. Valves were opened. Please ensure valves are open so that staff can easily access hand sinks to wash hands as needed throughout the day.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Mouse droppings were observed on a shelf near the safe in the dry storage area.Please clean this area and any other impacted area. Please ensure pest monitoring is being done at least monthly and take action (set traps) as needed.
