    • 305 - Repeat Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: Gap opening observed at the rear door by the dry storage area. Public health significance: Such opening may provide a point of entry for pests which may potentially lead to the contamination of food and food contact surfaces.)
      • Corrective Action: A commercial food operator must ensure that the weather stripping is repaired or replaced as per the approved plans.
    • 306 - Repeat Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Food preparation area in the kitchen and storage areas are not in good sanitary condition. Observed dirt build-up and grime around the edges of the walls, grease build-up underneath and sides of the fryer. Public health significance: Dirt build-up in a kitchen environment may serve as breeding site for pathogens, pest attractants and unsafe for food preparation, as food may be contaminated/cross-contaminated in such areas which may lead to foodborne illness.
      • Corrective Action: A commercial food operator must ensure that the food preparation area and storage areas are maintained in good sanitary condition and as per the sanitation plan.
    • 315 - Repeat Refrigeration units and hot holding equipment lack accurate thermometers [s. 19(2)]
      • Observation: Internal thermometer not present in refrigeration units. Public health significance: The absence of an internal thermometer may lead to the inability to ascertain that foods are being stored and displayed within safe temperatures.
      • Corrective Action: Operator noted that an order has been place for the thermometers. Operator must ensure that accurate thermometers are kept inside the coolers as per the approved food safety plans.

    • 103 - Failure to hold a valid permit while operating a food service establishment [s. 8(1)]
      • Observation: Facility has started operating without health approval and valid permit. All food premises must hold a valid food permit for monitoring and supporting food premises’ to ensure food being served to the public is prepared and served in a safe manner, and in compliance with the Food Premises Regulation.
      • Corrective Action: A commercial food establishment must ensure that they have a valid food permit before commencing operations.
    • 305 - Conditions observed that may allow entrance/harbouring/breeding of pests [s. 26(b),(c)]
      • Observation: Weather stripping at the rear section by the dishwashing area was not in good condition. This may allow entrance of pests into the kitchen which may further contaminate food and food contact surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Repair or replace the weather stripping to prevent potential entry of pests.
    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Observed dirt/grime build-up in hard to reach areas around the dishwashing area, pantry and behind the freezers. Accumulation of dirt in a food preparation and storage areas may be a pest attractant which may lead to contamination of food and food contact surfaces.
      • Corrective Action: Operator must ensure that the facility is cleaned and sanitized.
    • 311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
      • Observation: Flooring by the pantry/dry storage area is not in good repair. A piece of waferboard has been exposed and is chipping away. During the inspection, the area was covered with floor mat/carpet which is also not easily cleanable and is non-absorbent. Such a condition may render cleaning and sanitation ineffective leading to unsanitary conditions.
      • Corrective Action: Repair or replace the flooring by the pantry area and maintain it in a clean and sanitary condition
